Leo Johnston specialises in Commercial and Residential Conveyancing. He has practised as a Solicitor for over forty years.
Leo graduated from University College London with a degree in law (longer ago than he would like to admit!). He completed his training at Bischoffs in the City of London before returning to the North East.
In his spare time, Leo enjoys long beach walks with his treasured Labradoodle Ruby and the odd spot of Tennis.
Alison has been with the firm for almost 20 years after first joining the firm in 2004. Alison supports Leo Johnston in all areas of Residential Conveyancing.
In her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs.
Ashley joined the firm in 1990 on a 2-year YTS, after leaving school. After beginning her Hedley’s career as a Receptionist, she advanced to the role of Assistant, which she continues to hold today.
Ashley assists Leo Johnston in all aspects of Residential Conveyancing.
In her spare time, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family.
Keiron joined the firm in 2021 as a Business Apprentice. He works in the Conveyancing Department focusing on Post Completion matters, whilst continuing to develop his learning in all aspects of Residential Conveyancing.
Outside of work, Keiron enjoys watching sports and socialising with his friends. He particularly enjoys following Sunderland AFC across the country.
Kirsty works as a Conveyancer with over 20 years experience in Residential Conveyancing. Kirsty deals with all aspects of Conveyancing including Freehold, Leasehold, Right to Buy, re-mortgage and Transfer of Equity files with a speciality in Newbuild Purchase transactions.
I first joined Hedleys in 2011 as a Conveyancer at the Fulwell Branch before leaving to take up a new challenge with another firm of solicitors in 2014. I then re-joined Hedleys in 2016 when a vacancy became available in the Sunderland office
Lisa has over 20 years experience in dealing with all matters relating to Residential Conveyancing. She has been with the firm for over 10 years and during her time, she has developed strong networks with local Estate Agents and Solicitors firms.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, keeping fit, and travelling.
Emma has been with the firm for over 20 years after having joined the Legal field at the tender age of 16. She began working as an Office Administrator, progressing to the role of Float Typist and then onto her current role as Conveyancing Assistant. Emma assists Lisa Copeland-Carr in all areas of Residential Conveyancing. Given her long tenure in the Sunderland area, Emma has developed a good working relationship with local Estate Agents and other law firms.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys socialising with her friends and family. She also holds the post of Safeguarding and Welfare Officer for her son’s local football team.

Kirsty Hudson
Kirsty works as a Conveyancer with over 20 years experience in Residential Conveyancing. Kirsty deals with all aspects of Conveyancing including Freehold, Leasehold, Right to Buy, re-mortgage and Transfer of Equity files with a speciality in Newbuild Purchase transactions.
The firm’s Family Solicitor deals with all aspects of Family Law including Divorce, Finance, Trust of Land Claims, Non-Molestation Orders and Children Act Matters deals with all aspects of Family Law including Divorce, Finance, Trust of Land Claims, Non-Molestation Orders and Children Act matters.
Claire’s role includes directly assisting and supporting the firm’s Family Solicitor in respect of Children, Divorce, Financial matters and business matters relating to the general management of the firm.
Claire joined the firm in May 2018 and has been working within Family Law for over 20 years. Claire successfully completed the CILEx Paralegal Level 3 Certificate in Law and Practice (Family Practice) in 2015.
With over 15 years’ experience working in law firms, Lisa joined Hedleys in June 2022 as the Head of the Wills and Probate Department. Lisa specialises in Probate matters, Lasting Power of Attorneys, Wills and Court of Protection matters.
Lisa obtained her Law Degree from the Open University in 2007 before completing the Fasttrack Graduate Diploma with CILEX. Lisa is a Chartered Legal Executive.
Lorraine joined the firm in April 2021 and is the firm’s Accounts Manager.
Lorraine has many years of experience in her role and deals with the day-to-day account’s functions of the firm.

Vicky Robinson
Vicky has over 28 Years experience working in the Accounts Department of various law firms both in the North East and the South East of England both in Private and Legal Aid practices. Vicky began her legal Accounts career as a Cashier before progressing to the role of Head Cashier, gaining experience in Accounts Management, Accounting & Finance, enabling her to deliver the best service to both Law Firm and Client.
Amy joined the firm in 2022. Amy is the firm’s ‘front of house’. Coming from a strong Customer Service background, Amy brings a wealth of experience to the role and is sure to greet you with a warm welcome.

Emma Joined Hedleys in 2022, having completed her Level 3 qualifications at Durham Sixth Form Centre, which included a distinction in Law.
She is currently undertaking her NAPL Paralegal Diploma to advance her Legal Career and knowledge.
